Collection: Alia Eissa

Alia Eissa, born in Alexandria, Egypt. Teacher assistant in Faculty of Fine Arts
(Graphic Department), Alexandria University.

Alia believes that the countryside and nature are the source, bloodline of life,
roots and core for everything, including birds, trees, and many inspiring elements,
as well as the life of the Egyptian farmer.

Alia draws inspiration for her topics from the Egyptian countryside, where she
sees it in her way and begins to summarize it into symbols and surfaces of color.
She built the idea of symbols using what the ancient Egyptians did in writing, such
as hieroglyphs, so she was influenced by them and dealt with the elements as
letters and symbols in her language to tell stories about the countryside. Egyptian,
nature, and themes from ancient Egyptian, recasted and re-imagined in a
contemporary way.
